Holy Macaroni boys and girls! Our club has become so popular we may have to start a conversation about a membership limit or “cap”. As of September 21, 2015 we have 119 members and about 10 to be voted in this week with about another 10 application submissions expected this week as well. This will bring us to the 140 mark before you can blink. Crap,,,18 months ago we where flying on borrowed time in a public park at Heavenly farms and now we may have to start a waiting list. This means I will start taking cash bribes for admission (lol). This influx of new folks is also driving the idea forward on TCRC using ID badges while using the air field.

We opened a new flying field on the Pulda Farms property for multi rotor and helicopters only. This new area is to separate the multi rotor/ FPV quad racing from the main airfield. The demand for separate areas had become apparent with the large number of members now into these activities and Sunday 09/20/15 we invited pilots from a “meet up” group to join our members in holding a informal race day. Our guys learned a great deal and many of the guest pilots have indicated they intend on joining our club. Additionally TCRC will become a chapter club within the Multi GP organization for quad racing who will help organize and regulate the sport.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing I want to remind everyone about is the upcoming third annual Clunker Fly & Frankenplane event. Yep, the most fun thing I think we have each year and this time it should be even better. We moved the date from December to November 7th to increase our chance of good weather plus with all the new faces in the club since this time last year we should have a blast! So,, find the dustiest, nastiest, crappiest flying machine and bring it out to see what happens (no test flights please) The Frankenplane event is where you take various non matching parts from different airplanes and make a Frankenplane. (No test flights please) You get extra points for using non-RC parts and of course “the uglier, the better”. This is the one event you should bring a camera with you. Spectators are welcome.

One last thing; I need someone to take over the night fly event. I have rolled it back to once per month but I'm still spreading myself thin with all the club events we are running. It’s the easiest event to run we have so I would appreciate a volunteer.

Are We Having Fun Yet?
